nightfall to prophecies to factions ? - Guild Wars Forums

i am starting a dervish character in nightfall. i would like to go to prophecies first and then to factions. i have all the versions. Can somebody tell me the requirements for my dervish (min LVLs and who do i meet) to do those things?

Well, this is what I did:

1. Sit around in Kamadan waiting for someone to say "Ferrying to Docks XXXg"

2. Tell that person you want to go and pay them. Boom, you're on your way.

3. Sit around in the docks until someone says, "Ferrying to Proph XXXg" Tell them you want to go, pay. Boom, you're on your way.

4. Go back to the docks until someone says "Ferrying to Factions XXXg" Tell them you want to go, pay. Boom, you're on your way.

thanks, but who is this person and when will they appear? is it another player or a NPC that appears once you have reached a certain lvl in nightfall or done someother requirement? To get to factions must be difficult if you are low LVL because the mission to get to factions may be difficult with LVL 20 creatures??

is it easier to go to prophecies first then to factions or to go to factions directly because i have a lvl 19 friend who can take me to prophecies?

What he was talking about was getting another player who has the right quests active to ferry you. You can also do it by storyline. To get to Proph from Nightfall, the quest is Terror in Tyria

you need to have completed the Time is Nigh quest, the link will show you everything, where to get it, requirements etc. Good Luck

Probably worth mentioning that you won't find a skill trainer or any armour for a dervish in Prophecies or factions, as the derv was a Nightfall only profession.

You may want to blast your way up to Vabbi in the NF storyline before you go to the other campaigns, just to cap a few elites and get some skills. Even if you only do Kourna (first part of Elona mainland) you'll be able to cap all of the Avatar elites.

It's a runner(human) not a npc. These people will usually charge 200-500g for the ferry to the Consulate Docks and around the same for the ferry to the other continents. You have to get ferried to Consulate Docks first. Then to either continent after that. The NPC to take the quest for traveling to Prophecies or Factions is in Consulate Docks. But you can't take it till you actually progress in Nightfall story line to Unlock Consulate Docks normaly. But a person who has that quest unlocked can put you in thier party and take you with them(ferry).

It doesn't matter which first Cantha or Tyria becuase its the main town and once you zone them you can choose to take whichever path you want.

Once you reach LA(Prophecies,Tyria) the foes outside there are like level 8-12 or in that genral range.

Outside Kaineng Center(Factions,Cantha) the foes are level 20+.
This should help you in your decision to venture outside.

They're quests that you do. All you do is go and talk to people, and boom, you're there. No skill required.

I am lvl 6 Dervish in nightfall.

can somebody please help me , i did try to get somebody to ferry me to the consulate docks or to take me to LA via the ship but the game says that one of the party can't travel with him. Do i have to be a ceratin level before i can travel to LA? or have done the quests to get to consulate docks??

Why are you in such a hurry? Just play the game and follow the storylines, last thing I would want in Factions and LA is a dervish with no skills and not even max armor.

To Travel to Tyria and Factions with a runner the runner has to have the quests.

what i would like is to power level my dervish in factions from LA and then come to nightfalls and enjoy myself. i know somebody who has been in LA moved to nightfalls and wouldn't mind taking my dervish to LA if possible. The problem is i can't even get into the consultate docks region even though the other person has been there.

any advise?

Best advise is go back to NightFall... and play the game. Like somebody mentioned before, you can't get skills nor armor in Prophecies nor Factions, so what use could you possibly have? You will be a low level dervish, with low level armor, and extremely limited skills.. you are going to have a really hard time getting into groups. I'm sorry but I don't understand the rush, specially since it's your first character and you are new to the game.

Go out, start questing, doing missions and advance in Nightfall. Get skills, cap elite skills, learn how to play a good dervish. Then, once you have completed NightFall, travel to Cantha or Tyria and kick some ass.

It is a great feeling to beat the game for the first time.

so just to make SURE, is there no way getting off the initial island of nightfall unless i reach LVL16 or 17 or attained a certain sunspear rank of either first spear or commander despite all this talk of people ferrying you over. If you do reach lvl16/17 then what's the point of ferrying 'cause you can easily do the required mission on your owm. I also have lvl 20 warrior and lvl 19 elementalist who help me get off the island if i can bypass the requirements.

The ferrying is so that new characters can hit the Consulate Docks outpost early. This way, they can get max armor, then go back and complete starter island without having to have less than max armor.

I'm pretty sure it also allows you access to boat travel, but I can't verify that.

Ignore all the posts about runners and ferries, they will just spoil the game for you.
There are npcs in LA kamadan and kaineng which allow cross campaign travel, just play the game and look for them.

sorry to pester you all on this but finally arrived in eye of the north at lvl 12 dervish frm nightfall. Please can somekind soul tell me how get from eon to factions hopefully through a mission and not a ferry?

EOTN doesn't have a way for you to travel anywhere else besides around EOTN. To get to Factions you still need to complete the quest or be ferried by someone who has the quests. You will need to get a ferry to consulate docks first tho.
